This series was created for a strong Arab female movement, Banat Alyoum, which empowers and encourages girls to follow their dreams and speak their truth. The series encourages girls to love and nurture their bodies and themselves.
A meeting was set up with the client to discuss the message they needed to communicate. We identified the key target audience and style preferences. Prior to the meeting, the client provided the concept idea, content, and preferred style images.
The line sketches above were sent to the client. The sketches included visuals as well as written content prepared by the client.
The client provided written feedback. There were no changes necessary relating to composition and addition or subtraction of elements so I was able to proceed with full-color illustrations as opposed to preparing a second round of sketches for approval.
The illustrations were finalized by applying color and texture. The client provided final approval and final high resolution files were prepared and sent to client.
"I asked Zulfa to create an illustration series that aligned with our brand look and feel. I provided her with the subject matter and we were able to brainstorm ideas together on that basis.
I felt that we communicated very effectively and openly, we were able to build on each other’s ideas and came up with 3 bold concepts.
The illustrations created were used in a social media campaign for our Instagram page and they are still the most engaged with and liked pieces of content on the page. The images are on brand, strong and also very relatable with our target audience."
