Visual Identity Design
This project was created for a strong Arab female movement, Banat Alyoum, which empowers and encourages girls to follow their dreams and speak their truth.
The creation of the hand illustrated logomark is a cultivation of the three letters that make up the word "Girl" in Arabic - ب ن ت. The vibrant colors, lively illustrations, and bold photography give off strong, free, and versatile energy, much like the girls of Banat Alyoum.

What are the brand's needs and challenges?
Hanan explained that her previous brand, including the logo and supporting visual designs, did not represent Banat Alyoum's target audience. The brand targets brave, and independent girls breaking barriers. Hanan envisioned designs that represented diversity and boldness. She was drawn to me because of my colorful style and ability to create approachable designs that cater to an audience's needs.
The first step of the exploration process was to dive into research on the brand's market. In this case, these were organizations that focused on women's health and independence.
Based on research and Hanan's initial input, stylescapes were prepared to ensure we were on the same page in terms of colors, illustration styles, and typographic elements.
The next step was to sketch various logomarks and freehand logo typography options. Part of the logo sketching process was having a strong concept in mind. Above are some of the digital logomark sketches.
Two logo design options were presented to Hanan during a video call where I explained the concepts, as well as the stylistic treatments. Hanan immediately knew which logo will fit her brand perfectly. One round of edits was necessary before the logo below was completed.

The style of illustrations used in the brand is simple, freehand, and approachable. Creating Illustrations for Banat Alyoum is a living breathing process.
Based on the logo designs, stylescapes, and conversations with Hanan, supporting visuals were designed. Different visuals will continue to be created as the brand grows to represent the girls; their strengths, their fights, and their struggles.
Brand Colors & Font
The five colors selected collectively represent strength, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, and truth.
The font choice selected reflects the general feeling of the brand - approachable and positive. It also aligns with the style of the illustrations.
This project was conceived and built in 4 weeks. Hanan was involved in the thought process of the project and very pleased with the result.
